More about Gold Mound Spirea...

Noteworthy Characteristics

Gold Mound Spirea sports the most stunning, bright-gold foliage of any shrub we've seen. The fuzzy, pink, butterfly-attracting flower clusters poduced in abundance during the summer and the bright orange foliage in fall are extra-added bonuses! Creates dense mounds of foliage to 3 or 4 feet in height with an equal spread. The bright and soft-textured foliage combines nicley with plants nearby, particularly those with deep green, blue or red to burgundy or purple foliage.

Uses

Gold Mound Spirea is useful in the landscape as an accent plant, in small small to large groupings or as a border in landscape beds, islands and foundation plantings. A great choice for flowering shrub borders, colorful natural hedge, erosion control on slopes and embankments, butterfly gardens, and cottage gardens,

Culture & Care Tips

Achieves its brightest foliage color in full sun. Plant in well-drained soil. Exceptionally drought tolerant when established. No pruning necessary however deadheading after flowering will encourage more flowers. Can be hard pruned in late winter.
