Autumn Bonfire Encore Azalea is a moderate growing shrub that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 6A through 10B. It matures to an average height of 2 feet to 3 feet and an average width of 3 feet to 6 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun, morning sun with afternoon shade, morning shade with afternoon sun or filtered sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is moderately drained. In the spring, summer and fall Autumn Bonfire Encore Azalea produces red flowers. The foliage is medium green in color. It attracts visual attention and is resistant to diseases, mildew and heat.
Autumn Bonfire Encore Azalea can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in mass plantings, in foundation plantings, in containers or planters, as a background, in shrub borders, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, in landscape beds or islands, to accentuate entryways or in small groupings and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, theme gardens, cottage gardens or shade gardens.
Growing to 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide, Autumn Bonfire Encore Azalea is a perfect choice for groupings, mass plantings, low hedges or an accent in landscape borders and home foundation plantings. Its glowing true-red blooms, fast growth rate, and abundance of flowers makes it one of the best Encore selections for growing in larger containers and pots, which can be strategically placed to dress up decks, patios, porches, and other outdoor living spaces. Because they like sun to part shade, Encores do quite well under tall trees and in woodland borders. Butterflies love the flowers, and blooming branches serve very well for cutting to create stunning indoor floral arrangements.
The azaleas arrived healthy and ready to plant.
Not blooming yet in our shady location, but arrived very healthy and have stayed that way since we planted them.
These are beautiful shrubs with gorgeous blooms! They have adapted well and are growing quickly with plenty of blooms to get them noticed...We love them!
When my Autumn Bonfire azalea arrived, it had no hint of any blooms, but looked very healthy, due to careful packing for shipment. It has been in the ground for over a month, and still looks very healthy with some new growth, but still no hint of any blooms. My other azaleas only bloom in the spring, but this one is supposed to have three season blooms. Maybe this is normal for a new plant, and hopefully we'll get to see what it looks like in full bloom in the spring.
