This is our favorite out of the 5 selections in the Razzle Dazzle Collection developed at a Michael Dirr breeding program at the University of Georgia.
Razzle Dazzle Cherry Crape Myrtle is one of the most colorful summer-flowering shrubs in our trial garden. It becomes literally covered in cherry-red flowers during summer. Another nice attribute is the burgundy-red fall foliage.
Razzle Dazzle Cherry is useful in the sunny landscape as a specimen or in groups for an outstanding show of color. It also works well in large containers.
Razzle Dazzle Cherry Crape Myrtle is easy to grow in well-drained soil and full sun. It is very low maintenance requiring little if any pruning to keep a nice shape. That being said, spent flowers can be removed to encourage a possible second flush of flowers. In late winter, it can be lighter trimmed to keep a more dense form.
