Autumn Chiffon Encore Azalea is a moderate growing shrub that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 7A through 10B. It prefers growing in a location that provides morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun and grows best when planted in loam or clay soil that is well drained or moderately drained. It attracts butterflies and visual attention and is resistant to diseases and heat.
Autumn Chiffon Encore Azalea can be useful in the landscape in mass plantings, in foundation plantings, in containers or planters, as a border or edger, in shrub borders or in landscape beds or islands and also in theme gardens.
Noteworthy Characteristics
Autumn Chiffon produces an abundance of pretty, soft pink trumpet flowers, with a splash of dark pink in the center are produced in spring and fall and sporadically during summer. It's smaller habit and lower height of 2-1/2 feet makes Autumn Chiffon useful under low windows in foundation plantings. USDA Zones 7-9.
Uses
As one of the larger growing Encore Azaleas, Autumn Chiffon has a very robust, upright growth habit to 5 feet tall with a 4 foot spread, it is useful in foundation plantings, in small or large groupings in landscape beds, as an informal colorful hedge, or singularly in containers.
Culture & Care
Encore Azaleas prefer a an acid soil that contains plenty of organic matter and is well-drained. Encores will tolerate all-day full sun however will also tolerate some shade. Too much shade and flowering will be diminished. 5 hours or more of direct sun per day is recommended. A light pruning and feeding after the first bloom phase can help stimulate new growth and encourage heavier bud development.

Delivery driver stood them on end ignoring the instructions printed on the package. Plants arrived looking good, but two had been damaged in freight. One was totally out of crushed pot. Planted them all the next day. At this time they are looking good except the one that was crushed.
