Blueberry Variety Information Sheet

Need help choosing the right varieties of blueberry plants?

Use the data table below to help you select the Rabbiteye blueberry and/or Southern Highbush blueberry varieties that are the most well-suited to grow in your garden, and of course - produce the most fruit! This includes information regarding their recommended 'USDA Hardiness Zone', 'Chill Hour' requirements, ideal 'Companion Pollinators', and typical 'Ripening Period'. Choose a combination of Early-Mid-Late (ripening) varieties and extend your blueberry harvest season! Keep in mind that most blueberry varieties require a 'pollinator' to maximize their potential fruit production. So, the more varieties you have growing in your garden - the better!

Chill Hours = Number of total accumulated hours in a growing season that air temperatures are below 45F (7C) degrees. Chill Hours are critical to a plant's fruit production!

Pollinators = Plant variety/cultivar that is known to be effective at cross-pollinating with other varieties/cultivars (cross-fertilization).
