More about Lady Banks Rose...
The Lady Banks is an old-fashioned thornless climbing rose that explodes in clusters of miniature butter-yellow blossoms in the spring, and it’s what we gardeners call a “vigorous climber.” This means that you want to give this one plenty of room to grow. If planted to closely to the front porch it's possible it might take over your entire house, a slightly overwhelming prospect that is tempered only by the breathtaking display of flowers dripping from the soft, green branches. Simply put, it’s gorgeous, but needs its space.
Plant the Lady Banks Rose in a location that provides well-drained fertile soils rich in organic matter and full sun to morning sun with afternoon shade. Flowering will be best if the plant receives at least 6 hours of sun during the day. It blooms on old wood, so be careful not to over-prune the older branches.
The Lady Banks Rose is low-maintenance when given ample room to grow as it desires. It’s not meant for small spaces and easily grows to 30 feet or more, quickly swallowing sheds, trees, and unaware bystanders in its path. It is the perfect choice to cover large structures such as arbors, tall poles, and even old unsighlty small buildings. It can also be trained to grow against and along the top of sturdy fences and partitions. In large open landscape beds it will form a huge mound.
The Lady Banks Rose is one of the more drought-tolerant and disease-resistant rose species, making it a favorite among gardeners for many generations. If you've got room for this wonderful old favorite plant one!

This plant arrived well-packed and undamaged, despite the delivery person not paying attention to the instructions on the package about which end was up! The rose is doing well and is thornless as advertised. I'm anxious to see it bloom. I would order again from Gardener Direct.
