Noteworthy Characteristics
Purple Magic™ is a variety from First Editions® Magic™ series. Every variety in this series was selected for its ability to produce masses of blooms in rich, true colors...and Purple Magic™ doesn't disappoint with its abundant, large clusters of crinkled, deep purple flowers in summer. Deadheading spent flowers often prolongs the bloom season well into fall. The attractive, deep, dark, glossy green foliage on compact to intermediate sized shrubs 4 to 6 feet high and wide depending on pruning. A very vigorous grower with excellent resistance to powdery mildew. USDA Zones 6-9.
Uses
Because of its smaller size, Purple Magic™ is the perfect crape myrtle for smaller garden spaces. It is most useful as a specimen or planted in clusters anywhere in the sunny landscape and can also be used as a colorful hedge.
