Additional Information About Thymus citriodorus 'Archers Gold' - Archer's Gold Thyme

Thymus Citriodorus 'Archers Gold' is a moderate growing groundcover plant, herb and perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5A through 8B. It matures to an average height of 1 inch to 1 foot and an average width of 6 inches to 1 foot, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in sand or loam soil that is well drained. In the summer Archer's Gold Thyme produces violet and lavender flowers. The foliage is yellow, chartreuse and dark green in color. It attracts butterflies and visual attention and is resistant to deer, drought, insects, foot traffic and heat. If you like fragrance, Thymus Citriodorus 'Archers Gold' has fragrant foliage.

Archer's Gold Thyme can be useful in the landscape in mass plantings, in containers or planters, as a border or edger, as a groundcover, between stepping stones and pavers, in landscape beds or islands or in small groupings and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, theme gardens, cottage gardens, butterfly gardens, herb gardens or perennial gardens.

More About Archers Gold Thyme...

Archer’s Gold Thyme, Thymus citriodorus  ‘Archers Gold’, is a low-growing, mat-forming evergreen perennial plant that has bright golden variegated foliage with a  nice lemon-scent. Light lavender flowers appear atop the foliage in summer. Honey bees love the flowers of this thyme plant!

Archers Gold Thyme is excellent use as a groundcover or border along garden walkways, paths, and garden beds, or around rose beds. It is also a cloroful accent in container gardeners. Tolerates light foot traffic.

Very easy to grow, Archers Gold Thyme requires a well-drained average to poor soil. Contantly soggy or wet soil is problematic. Avoid overwatering!

Archers Gold Thyme is very low maintenance, deer resistant and very drought tolerant. Once established, plants will require little care. Wetting their leaves while watering will reduce their fragrance. Plants can be trimmed or sheared after flowering.
