More About  Red Cobweb Hen And Chicks...

'Red Cobweb' features dense webbing of gray threads over compact, fleshy rosettes tinged with red. No, spiders do not spin the webs around the leaves of this plant! Pink to crimson flowers bloom from late spring to early summer.

Hen and Chicks are perfect for planting around rocks and boulders in rock gardens and garden ponds, container garden of all types, rooftop gardens and rock walls.

Very easy to grow, Hen and Chicks prefer a very well-drained, sandy or rocky soil and full sun to part shade. Constantly soggy or wet soils are problematic.

Hen and Chicks are very low maintenance, drought tolerant plants that require no fertilization. After flowering, the mother rosette dies to leave room for the chicks: remove this by tugging gently at the base of the bloom stem. Plants are not bothered by deer and have no serious insect or disease problems.
