More About Gold Moss Sedum...

Gold Moss Sedum is a low-growing, fast-spreading, exceptionally drought-tolerant sedum that is perfect for use as a groundcover or as a lawn substitute. It's trailing stems form a low, dense carpet of attractive, succulent, light green foliage in the garden that becomes covered with yellow, star-shape flowers during spring and early summer.

Gold Moss is one of the toughest sedums and will spread quite rapidly to cover the ground in garden spaces. It's one of the few sedums/stonecrops that might be able to hold its own in a competition with ice plants for rapid groundcover on a droughty roadside and can even be used as a low-maintenance lawn substitute. It also makes a great soil cover in containers and will spill over the edges of pots. It is very attractive around boulders.

As with other sedums, Gold Moss likes full sun or just a little shade, in moist or dry well draining soil. It is not picky about soil type or condition. It grows on average four to six inches tall but can hump up higher, with virtually limitless spread.

As with most sedums, the leaves can be used as a substitute for sweet peppers either raw in salads or fried into relish. Their green-pepperiness keeps sedums from being browsed by deer or rabbits.

Gold Moss is one tough sedum!
