Alstroemeria Amina 'Amina' is a fast growing perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 8A through 11. It matures to an average height of 1 foot to 2 feet and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun, morning sun with afternoon shade or morning shade with afternoon sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam or clay soil that is well drained. In the spring, summer and fall Amina Princess Lily produces orange flowers. The foliage is medium green in color.
Amina Princess Lily can be useful in the landscape in mass plantings, in containers or planters, as a border or edger, in hanging baskets, as a focal point, in landscape beds or islands or mailbox plant and also in cottage gardens, butterfly gardens or hummingbird gardens.
Alstromeria are traditionally used as cut flowers. The Cororita Princess lilies are no different in that respect. These cultivars perform as both container plants or in the perennial garden border. They boast clean foliage, non-floppy stems and high bloom counts. While in cooler climates, these are grown as annuals but they are actually perennials in zone 8 and higher if grown in the ground and mulched each winter. They require moderate water and fertilizer, which should come as no surprise considering the flower color and size.
