Noteworthy Characteristics
Monkey Puzzle Tree makes an attractive novelty specimen and is a perfect selection for the gardener that loves rare and unusual plants. Monkey Puzzle Tree is a wild, almost scary looking evergreen tree with open splaying and spiraling branches. The tree can grow up to 70' tall and 30' wide, however, in that it is a slow grower it will take many years to reach that height... almost a lifetime.
Uses
Use as a single, focal point specimen tree in a large open area, or in containers indoors or outdoors.
Culture
Monkey Puzzle Tree prefers well drained to moderately drained soil. Avoid planting in areas where the soil is continually moist. Very slow growing. No pruning maintenance required unless to remove dead wood or dead branches. Fertilze in spring and mid-summer with a slow release fertilizer.
