Noteworthy Characteristics
'Henry's Garnet' is a Virginia Sweetspire cultivar, Itea, featuring fragrant white flowers on cylindrical, drooping racemes that nearly cover the erect, rounded shrub (to 4') in late spring or early summer. Oval, dark green leaves turn an attractive garnet red in fall persisting almost the the end of the year. Great for a wet area in the landscape though will tolerate drier soils with supplemental irrigation during prolonged periods of drought.
