Noteworthy Characteristics
A smaller grower than 'Shoal Creek' and other cultivars, 'Delta Blues' is a stunning shrub or small tree that produces an abundance of fragrant, rich purple-blue flowers in compact panicles during summer followed by clusters of attractive red fruits on a more refined plant reaching about 8 to 10’ high and wide at maturity. Very attractive leaves similar in appearance to the leaves of hemp. But this plant isn't for smoking or human consumption!
Uses
Delta Blues Vitex is an excellent choice for a single specimen, groupings, flowering shrub borders, natural hedge, visual screen, home foundation plantings, butterfly gardens, wildlife and bird gardens and cottage gardens,
Culture & Care Tips
Not picky about soil provided it is well-drained. Prefers full sun however will tolerate some shade during the hottest part of the day. Prune after flower to encourage a heavier flush of late summer and fall flowers.
