Noteworthy Characteristics
The intensely fragrant rose-like semi-double ivory colored flowers of Belmont Gardenia appear from late spring into summer and occasionally into fall. Very few Gardenias continue to bloom beyond the normal bloom cycle, Belmont is one of them. The dense shiny dark green foliage provides year round beauty. As well, Belmont is one of the most cold hardy Gardenia, surviving as far north as USDA Zone 7. For those who enjoy Gardenias, Belmont is simply a must have!
Uses
Excellent for use as a single specimen shrub, in smaller groupings, flowering shrub borders, natural hedge, visual screen, home foundation plantings, espalier (grown flat against a wall), container gardens, asian theme gardens, cottage gardens, and near sitting areas and patios.
Culture & Care Tips
Prefers morning sun and afternoon shade, however, is known to handle more sun quite well. Can be grown in most soil types as long as they are well drained. Incorporate organic matter and/or soil planting mix, especially when planting in heavier soils and clay soils. Low to average water requirements.
