Noteworthy Characteristics
Winter Gem is a lower growing semi-dwarf Boxwood. The rich green spring and summer foliage acquires a golden bronze hue through the winter. As with most other boxwoods, Winter Gem is excellence for use as a clipped formal hedge.
Uses
Excellent for use as a single specimen topiary, in groupings, shrub borders, natural hedge, clipped formal hedge, mass plantings, home foundation plantings, entryways and corners, container gardens, and asian theme gardens.
Culture & Care Tips
Winter Gem is best grown in average, medium moisture, weel drained soil in full sun or part shade. Prefers slightly acidic to slighty alkaline pH. Winter Gem is noted for it's winter hardiness for as far north as Zone 5.
