Lavandula Stoechas 'With Love' is a moderate growing herb and perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 7A through 11. It matures to an average height of 2 feet to 3 feet and an average width of 2 feet to 3 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. In the spring, summer and fall With Love French Lavender produces pink flowers. The foliage is blue green and medium green in color. It attracts butterflies, wildlife and visual attention and is resistant to deer, drought, insects, diseases, mildew and heat. If you like fragrance, Lavandula Stoechas 'With Love' has fragrant foliage and fragrant flowers.

With Love French Lavender can be useful in the landscape in mass plantings, in containers or planters, as a border or edger, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, in landscape beds or islands, in small groupings or as a hedge and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, cottage gardens, butterfly gardens, herb gardens or perennial gardens.

More about With Love French Lavender...

Noteworthy Characteristics

'With Love' Lavender produces abundant, show-stopping, cotton candy pink flowers over a longer flowering season than others. It also blooms earlier and repeat flowers in flushes. The flower ‘ribbons’ are very long above a small inflorescence body and are held tightly just above the foliage. With Love loves the heat and grows nicely in a mounding compact habit, offering disease resistance.

Growing Information

Grow in average, dry to medium, well-drained, alkaline soil in full sun. Constantly soggy soil is a killer. Prefers a light, sandy soil with somewhat low fertility. Remove faded flowers to promote continued bloom. Prune to shape in spring after new leaves appear. Prune back to 8” in spring every 3 years to control plant size and to promote robust, new growth. In high-humidity areas consider using rock instead of organic mulch.

Uses

In the garden, With Love Lavender works well as a specimen or in large groupings in borders, butterfly gardens, and is also ideal in sunny container gardens. The foliage and flowers of lavender can be used in perfumes and potpourri, so it is ideal for cutting and herb gardens. Fresh flowers can be crystalized and used in candies and cakes, dried flowers are used in potpourris and satchets, oils are used in creams and perfumes. And these are only some of the more common uses.
