Heuchera Villosa 'Vienna' is a moderate growing perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 4A through 9B. It matures to an average height of 1 inch to 1 foot and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides shade, morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. In the summer Vienna Heuchera produces rose pink flowers. The foliage is red and orange in color.
Vienna Heuchera can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in mass plantings, in containers or planters, as a border or edger, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, as an accent, under a shade tree, as a groundcover, in hanging baskets or in landscape beds or islands and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, cottage gardens, perennial gardens or shade gardens.
One of the City™ series known to be heavy bloomers introduced by Terra Nova Nurseries, Vienna is a selection that forms a compact dense mound of rounded leaves in rose to rose-orange with a light overlay of silver. Sprays of small rose-pink bell flowers rise above mounds of foliage on short stems in June and continue throughout the summer. Provide afternoon shade in warm regions. Excellent in the border, for edging, or in tubs and mixed containers.
