It matures to an average height of 50 feet to 10000 feet and an average width of 30 feet to 50 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun, morning sun with afternoon shade, morning shade with afternoon sun or filtered sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is moderately drained. In the spring and summer Claudia Wannamaker Magnolia produces cream and white flowers. The foliage is dark green in color. Caludia Wannamaker is a vigorous growing Southern Magnolia with a medium broad pyramid form, more open than ' Bracken's Brown Beauty,' growing to around 50 feet in height over time with a spread of 20 to 25 feet. The leaves are dark green and light brown on the undersides. It blooms at an earlier age than other varieties, producing magnificent, white flowers that emit a delightful, sweet fragrance.
