Additional Information About Shinseiki Asian Pear

Pyrus Pyrifolia 'Shinseiki' is a moderate growing tree and fruit bearing plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5A through 8A. It matures to an average height of 12 feet to 15 feet and an average width of 10 feet to 15 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. The foliage is dark green in color. It attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, wildlife and songbirds / birds and is resistant to drought, diseases and heat.

Shinseiki Asian Pear can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, to provide shade or as a street tree and also in cottage gardens or shade gardens.

The Shinseiki is an Asian pear tree that produces round, medium sized, goldenfruits with white, sweet, crisp, and juicy flesh. The fruit ripens in late July, to mid August and stores extremely well until March. The Shinseiki Pear Tree bears fruit at a young age and requires 250-450 chill hours to set it’s good quality pear fruit. Zones 5-9a.
