Vaccinium Virgatum 'Misty' is a moderate growing shrub and fruit bearing plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5B through 10A. It matures to an average height of 6 feet to 8 feet and an average width of 4 feet to 6 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in loam soil that is well drained. In the spring Misty Blueberry produces white and light pink flowers. The foliage is blue green and burgundy in color. It attracts wildlife, visual attention and songbirds / birds and is resistant to insects, diseases, mildew and heat.

A 1989, University of Florida release, Misty has a moderately vigorous, upright, spreading growth habit, and is often planted as pollinator for other Southern Highbush varieties. Misty's spring flowers are often tinged light-pink, and it is an early to mid-season ripening Highbush that produces medium to large size berries, that are a beautiful sky blue in color, firm, and have a delightful, spicy-sweet flavor! Misty lends itself very well to any/all picking options - home garden, u-pick, and/or mechanical harvesting.
