More about Nova Raspberry...

The Nova raspberry variety was released in 1981, and gets its name from its Nova Scotian origination. It is a red, summer bearing (floricane-fruiting) variety that has a vigorous, upright growth habit, and long, fruiting laterals that set a late fall crop. Its canes have very few spines (thorns), and its medium/large sized fruit ripens around mid-season. Nova raspberries are bright red in color, shiny and firm, and have a sweet (yet somewhat tart) flavor. Nova berries are considered to have better than average shelf life, and are very good for freezing. Nova is a very cold hardy bush, but still does well in warmer climates. It appears to resist most common cane diseases, including rust.
