Additional Information About Chinzan Dwarf Azalea - Azalea satsuki 'Chinzan'

More About Chinzan Azalea...

Noteworthy Characteristics

'Chinzan'  is a Satsuki Hybrid Azalea that produces some of the hottest pink flowers you've ever seen that contrast nicely with the glossy green foliage made up of slender, pointed leaves on a low, dwarf mound to about 18-24 inches in height with a spread of maybe 3 feet. Like the Encore Azaleas, 'Chinzan' flowers in two times a year; in spring and again in fall. The spring bloom is heavier and usually occurs late in the season during the month of May. We love this cute little azalea that has big flower power and think you will too!

Uses

It's very compact, dwarf mounding habit makes 'Chinzan' an excellent choice as a specimen or border for smaller garden spaces or planted in groups or in mass in larger garden spaces. Very useful as a groundcover on partially shaded slopes and embankments. It is great for rock gardens and/or bonsai.

Culture & Care Tips

Azaleas prefer a well draining, moist and acidic soil rich in organic matter. With the exception of Southern Indica and Encore Azaleas, most azaleas prefer some shade or filtered sun during the hottest part of the day. Follow the links below for expert planting and care tips.

The dwarf azaleas arrived in a reasonable amount of time and in good condition. The plants seem to be healthy, and they are already showing a lot of new growth since being planted in the ground. I can't wait to see them in bloom. I am pleased with this purchase.
