Additional Information About Sedum spurium 'Tricolor' - Tricolor Stonecrop

Sedum Spurium 'Tricolor' is a moderate growing groundcover plant, perennial plant and succulent plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 4A through 9B. It matures to an average height of 1 inch to 1 foot and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun or morning sun with afternoon shade and grows best when planted in sand, clay or silt soil that is well drained. In the summer Tricolor Sedum produces pink and rose pink flowers. The foliage is blue green, burgundy, red, pink and light green in color. It attracts butterflies and is resistant to deer, drought, insects, diseases, mildew and heat.

Tricolor Sedum can be useful in the landscape in containers or planters, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, as a groundcover, between stepping stones and pavers or in landscape beds or islands and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, theme gardens or perennial gardens.

More About Tricolor Sedum...

One from our 'Toe Tickler' collection, 'Tricolor' Sedum delivers just what the name implies. The smooth leaves of this fast-growing groundcover are green with white edging tinged in pink, new growth and winter color appearing in darker pink. The whole effect is very pretty and unique. This showy sedum also produces little pink, star-shaped flowers held above the foliage during summer.

Tricolor Sedum is a great choice for garden beds, rock gardens, or containers. In garden beds it works well as a border or groundcover. It is also nice for spilling over walls or the edges of pots in container gardens.

Tricolor Sedum is very drought-tolerant and low-maintenance, requiring well-drained sandy soils and full sun to part shade for best performance.

If you like colorful and low-maintenance plants Tricolor Sedum definitely deserves a spot on your garden!
