Additional Information About Sedum album 'Coral Carpet' - Coral Carpet Stonecrop

It matures to an average height of 1 inch to 1 foot and an average width of 6 inches to 1 foot, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun, morning sun with afternoon shade or morning shade with afternoon sun and grows best when planted in loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained or moderately drained. In the summer and fall Coral Carpet Sedum produces rose pink and coral flowers. The foliage is orange, pink, light green and medium green in color. It attracts visual attention and is resistant to deer, drought, insects, diseases, mildew and heat.

Coral Carpet Sedum can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in mass plantings, in containers or planters, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, between stepping stones and pavers, in landscape beds or islands, in small groupings or mailbox plant and also in rock or xeriscape gardens or perennial gardens.

More About Coral Carpet Sedum...

One from our 'Toe Tickler' selection, Coral Carpet is a low-growing spreading sedum to about 3 inches in height that when happy will quickly form a dense carpet of succulent foliage. The creeping stems will root as they go. New growth emerges a salmon-orange color maturing to a bright green and then turning reddish-bronze during the winter months. During summer clusters of tiny white to pale pink flowers appear above the foliage.

Coral Carpet Sedum is very easy to grow in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun. It does prefer moist soils with good drainage though will tolerate drought and poor soil. Some light shade is tolerated. We've seen no serious insect or disease problems.

Coral Carpet Sedum is useful in rock garden or as a groundcover. It can also be useful in container rock gardens. A very dependable sedum!
