Useful as a border, groundcover, or accent in container gardens, Lamium White Nancy is one of the best choices for a tough yet showy perennial plant in the shade. This classy-looking selection forms a spreading patch of white leaves with a narrow green edge. Clusters of pure white flowers appear in spring, then continue off and on until fall.
The trailing stems of Lamium White Nancy will root into the ground where they touch, gradually filling a space when planted about 12-18 inches or so apart. It looks like a tender plant but we've found it to be evergreen in our trial gardens here in Zone 8 of Georgia.
Lamium is easy to grow and fairly tolerant of dry shade, once established. It is tolerant of various types of soil however prefers a somewhat loose, well-drained soil. In our trial gardens it has performed best in shady areas that provide mostly shade to morning sun with afternoon shade.
Lamium is very low maintenance. It can be pinched any time of year to keep it tidy and trimmed back in late winter.
If you're looking for a low-growing plant that will light up your shade garden or Lamium White Nancy is a great choice!
