Additional Information About Neon Star Dianthus - Cottage Pinks

Neon Star Dianthus is a moderate growing groundcover plant and perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 4A through 9A. It matures to an average height of 1 inch to 1 foot and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. The foliage is grey / silver in color. It attracts butterflies and is resistant to deer, drought, insects and diseases. If you like fragrance, Neon Star Dianthus has fragrant flowers.

Neon Star Dianthus can be useful in the landscape in mass plantings, in foundation plantings, in containers or planters, as a border or edger, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, as a groundcover, in landscape beds or islands, for erosion control, to accentuate entryways or in small groupings and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, theme gardens, cottage gardens, butterfly gardens or perennial gardens.

More About Neon Star Dianthus...

Masses of fragrant, fluorescent bright pink flowers rise above and nearly cover the low, spreading mounds of silvery-blue evergreen foliage in spring. Flowers have a sweet, clove-like scent and will repeat if the first flush of flowers is deadheaded. Outstanding when planted in patches in garden beds, as a border along paths or walkways, and in rock gardens. Repeat bloomer with deadheading.
