It matures to an average height of 3 feet to 4 feet and an average width of 4 feet to 6 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. In the summer Nikko Blue Hydrangea produces bright blue flowers. The foliage is dark green in color. It attracts visual attention and is resistant to heat.

Nikko Blue Hydrangea can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in foundation plantings, as a background, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, as an accent, under a shade tree, as a focal point, in landscape beds or islands, to accentuate entryways or in small groupings and also in theme gardens, cottage gardens, perennial gardens or shade gardens.
