Vaccinium Virgatum 'Pearl River' is a moderate growing shrub and fruit bearing plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 7B through 9A. It matures to an average height of 6 feet to 8 feet and an average width of 6 feet to 8 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in loam soil that is well drained. In the spring Pearl River Blueberry produces white flowers. The foliage is blue green in color. It attracts wildlife and visual attention and is resistant to insects, diseases, mildew and heat.

A 1995, Mississippi State University - ARS/USDA release, 'Pearl River' southern highbush blueberry has a vigorous, upright growth habit. 'Pearl River' is a mid-season ripening variety that produces medium-sized, dark-blue berries, that have a truly excellent flavor, and a small stem (picking) scar.
Pearl River's suggested pollinator is Jubilee. Pearl River has a moderate chilling hours requirement of about 500 hours.
