Vaccinium Virgatum 'Cooper' is a moderate growing shrub and fruit bearing plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 8A through 10A. It matures to an average height of 6 feet to 8 feet and an average width of 4 feet to 8 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in loam soil that is well drained. In the spring Cooper Blueberry produces white flowers. The foliage is blue green in color. It attracts wildlife, visual attention and songbirds / birds and is resistant to insects, diseases, mildew and heat.
Cooper Blueberry can be useful in the landscape in shrub borders, in landscape beds or islands or as a hedge and also in cottage gardens.

A 1997, Mississippi State University - ARS/USDA release, Cooper southern highbush blueberry has a vigorous, semi-upright/upright growth habit. Cooper is an early ripening southern highbush variety having good color, flavor, a firm texture, and a dry stem scar. Its textural qualities make Cooper a great choice for further processing and/or long-term, frozen storage.
Cooper's suggested pollinator(s) is Georgia Gem. Cooper has a moderate chill hour requirement of 400-500 hours.
