Malus Domestica 'Jonagold' is a moderate growing tree that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5A through 8B. It matures to an average height of 8 feet to 10 feet and an average width of 6 feet to 10 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun, morning sun with afternoon shade or morning shade with afternoon sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. In the spring Jonagold - Apple Tree produces white flowers. The foliage is light green and medium green in color. It attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, wildlife and songbirds / birds and is resistant to drought, diseases and heat.
Jonagold - Apple Tree can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, as a background, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, as an accent, to provide shade or as a street tree and also in shade gardens.
