The Chinese Butterfly Rose is extraordinarily unique in that it produces 7 or more shades of single roses on the same bush. The flowers come in shades of yellow, orange, red, pink and fuchsia...looking as though a group of multicolored butterflies had settled on the bush.
The Chinese Butterfly Rose fits in nicely in flowering shrub borders, perennial gardens, rose gardens and, because of it's old-fashioned look, cottage gardens.
The Chinese Butterfly Rose is easy to grow in well-drained moist soils with full sun to morning sun with afternoon shade. You can expect more flowers with more sun. The plants in our gardens are disease and insect free. The shrub can be cut back hard in late winter or lightly throughout the flowering season. Cease pruning two months prior to first frost in your area.
