Amistad Salvia is a moderate growing perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 8A through 11. It matures to an average height of 3 feet to 4 feet and an average width of 2 feet to 3 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun, morning sun with afternoon shade or morning shade with afternoon sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained or moderately drained. In the spring, summer and fall Amistad Salvia produces purple and dark purple flowers. The foliage is medium green and dark green in color. It attracts butterflies and hummingbirds and is resistant to deer, insects and heat. If you like fragrance, Amistad Salvia has fragrant foliage.

Amistad Salvia can be useful in the landscape in mass plantings, in containers or planters, in hanging baskets, in landscape beds or islands, in small groupings or in annual flower beds and also in cottage gardens, butterfly gardens, hummingbird gardens or perennial gardens.
