Raspberry Surprise Dianthus is a moderate growing perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5A through 9B. It matures to an average height of 1 foot to 2 feet and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. In the spring Raspberry Surprise Dianthus produces pink, red, white, light pink, soft pink and burgundy flowers. The foliage is light green and medium green in color. It attracts butterflies, hummingbirds and songbirds / birds and is resistant to deer, drought, diseases and heat.
Raspberry Surprise Dianthus can be useful in the landscape in mass plantings, in containers or planters, as a border or edger, in shrub borders, as an accent or as a groundcover and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, theme gardens, cottage gardens, butterfly gardens, hummingbird gardens or perennial gardens.
