Hemerocallis 'Fire King' produces an abundance of buds on strong, straight, leafless flower stalks (scapes) that will open in the evening for your next day's viewing pleasure. As it's name implies, the large 5-1/2" flowers fo Fire King are a firey orange color with radiant halos that are darker red-orange. The throats and stamens are a golden yellow-orange. Sturdy stems make the flowers excellent for cutting and use in indoor flower arrangements. It's attractive grassy leaves remain green in color throughout the season. This tall daylily is great for borders, groups or naturalizing.
