In the spring Solar Flare False Indigo produces yellow and golden yellow flowers. The foliage is medium green in color. It attracts butterflies, visual attention and songbirds / birds and is resistant to deer, drought, insects, diseases, mildew and heat.
Solar Flare False Indigo can be useful in the landscape in shrub borders, in landscape beds or islands or in small groupings and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, theme gardens, cottage gardens or butterfly gardens.
Striking lemon yellow flowers bloom along 12-18 inch spikes that rise above the bright blue-green foliage. Baptisia Solar Flare puts on it's magnificent show of amazing color late spring through early summer. The flowers open yellow, then turn to a rusty orange blush as they age.
