Minosa Pudica 'none' is a fast growing tropical plant and perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 10A through 11. It matures to an average height of 1 foot to 2 feet and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun, morning sun with afternoon shade or morning shade with afternoon sun and grows best when planted in loam soil that is well drained. In the summer Dwarf Mimosa produces pink flowers. The foliage is medium green in color. It attracts butterflies, hummingbirds and visual attention and is resistant to heat. If you like fragrance, Minosa Pudica 'none' has fragrant flowers.

Dwarf Mimosa can be useful in the landscape in containers or planters, as a border or edger, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, as a groundcover, in landscape beds or islands, in small groupings or in annual flower beds and also in butterfly gardens or perennial gardens.

More about Sensitive Plant...

Noteworthy Characteristics

Kids of all ages...2 to 100...will love this unique and interactive plant! A native of South and Central America, the leaves of the Sensitive Plant, Mimosa pudica, actually move when you touch, shake or blow on them, collapsing downward. They do this in an effort to protect themselves. But don't worry, within an hour or so, after they feel the coast is clear, they'll rise back up again! An extra-added bonus is the pink, puff ball-like flowers that are produced during summer.

Uses

Best grown as a container plant where it can be kept in a high light location indoors year round, or outdoors and then brought indoors when temperatures drop below 60 degrees F.
