Tricolor Dwarf Oyster Plant, Tradescantia spathacea 'Dwarf Tricolor', is a highly variegated non-invasive form of the oyster plant. The short, sword-like leaves on this cultivar are green with streaks of creamy white and pink on top and the backs of leaves are purple, providing outstanding, eyecatching color in the landscape. The plant performs best in partial shade...morning sun with afternoon shade is best. The plant can be used as a drought tolerant ground cover. These succulent plants reach about 8 inches in height. It is slow-spreading plant with a neat appearance and attractive color and texture that works in both formal or casual landscapes.
Uses
Tricolor Dwarf Oyster Plant is useful as a border plant, in mass as a groundcover, and especially as an underplanting for palms and other larger shrubs and trees that will provide it some shade.
