Noteworthy Characteristics
Red Tip is a large, broadleaf, evergreen shrub with erect stems and leathery dark green leaves. It takes it's name from it's new growth, which emerges a beautiful bright red before turning green. Red Tip has white flowers in spring. As beautiful as this plant is, the buyer must beware. Red Tip is susceptible to leafspot and therefore is not being used in many areas across the south. Before considering Red Tip as a plant for your landscape make sure to contact your local extension service to see how well the Red Tip are performing in your area.
Uses
Excellent for use as a single specimen shrub or tree-form, natural hedge, clipped formal hedge, visual screen or wind and noise buffer, home foundation plantings to frame corners, and along driveways and property lines.
Culture & Care Tips
Best grown in Full to Mostly Sun. Prefers well drained soil.
