The New Zealand Tea Tree is a shrub or small tree that displays an abundance of fuchsia- hot pink flowers appearing in spring and fall. With regular pruning it can maintained as a small tree form specimen. New Zealand Tea Tree is a wonderful plant selection that will add magnificent color to the garden in both spring and fall.
Uses
Excellent for us as a single specimen shrub or small tree form, in small groupings, flowering shrub borders, natural hedge, visual screen or wind and noise buffer, home foundation plantings, espalier (grown flat against a wall), container gardens, butterfly gardens, wildlife gardens, asian theme gardens, cottage gardens, landscape beds, and outdoor living areas.
Culture & Care Tips
Best grown in full or mostly sun. Grows well in most well draned soils. Incorporate a 50/50 mix of soil amendment to native soil when planting in clay or heavier soils. Average water need. Water regularly during extended drought periods.
