Noteworthy Characteristics
The Pfitzer Compacta Juniper is a commonly planted evergreen shrub. It has sharp, feathery needles of bluish gray-green and a vigorous spreading habit. Mature specimens can reach 5 to 6 feet in height and grow from 10 to 12 feet in girth. If in need of a fast growing shrub for an embankment or an area that needs to be filled quickly, Pfitzer Compacta Juniper is a great plant selection.
Uses
Great for use as a large single specimen pom-pom topiary, in groupings, shrub borders, natural hedge, clipped formal hedge, visual screen or wind and noise buffer, mass plantings, erosion control on slopes and embankments, asian theme gardens, or just about anywhere in the garden that gets full sun and needs a fast growing, larger shrub to fill the space.
Culture & Care Tips
Pfitzer Compacta Juniper is very easy to grow and is very low maintenance; requiring no pruning unless to maintain a dense form. It adapts to a wide variety of soils provided they are well-drained. It prefers full sun to mostly sun.
