Noteworthy Characteristics
The benefit of the Crimson Queen Azalea is the wonderful contrast it provides with the variety of greens in the landscape. With its magnificent crimson/burgundy foliage the color contrast enhances the landscape so as to make a basically green landscape "come alive". An added benefit is that Crimson Queen performs very well in shade, where not many other shrubs with burgundy foliage will survive.
Uses
Best used as a single specimen, in groupings, shrub borders, natural hedge, clipped formal hedge, home foundation plantings, asian theme gardens, cottage gardens and just about anywhere in the landscape whether in full sun or shade.
Culture & Care Tips
Azaleas prefer a well draining, moist and acidic soil rich in organic matter. With the exception of Southern Indica and Encore Azaleas, most azaleas prefer some shade or filtered sun during the hottest part of the day. Follow the links below for expert planting and care tips.
