It matures to an average height of 8 feet to 10 feet and an average width of 8 feet to 10 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. More about Semmes Beauty Oakleaf Hydrangea...

Noteworthy Characteristics

Semmes Beauty is a vigorous, heat-tolerant cultivar noted for its large, white flower panicles and pretty burgundy fall color. It originates from the Semmes, Alabama in the southeastern United States so you know it's heat tolerant! In spring, it puts forth large, oak-shaped leaves that are deep green with soft, lighter undersides. Huge conical flower panicles appear in summer that consist of showy, four-sepaled flowers that are flattened and papery. The white flowers age to rose-pink and dry to soft tan or brown. In fall, the leaves turn striking shades of crimson and bronze-purple, and through winter the dry flowers persist above branches lined with exfoliating copper-brown, cinnamon and tan bark.

Uses

The large leaves on this 8-10' by 8-10' shrub provide outstanding contrast in the landscape. Useful as a single specimen, in groupings, flowering shrub borders, as a natural hedge or visual screen, home foundation plantings, woodland borders, and cottage gardens.
