Coreopsis Verticillata 'Route 66' is a fast and moderate growing perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5A through 9B. It matures to an average height of 1 foot to 2 feet and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained or moderately drained. In the summer Route 66 Coreopsis produces red, bright yellow and maroon flowers. The foliage is dark green in color. It attracts butterflies and visual attention and is resistant to deer, drought and heat.

Route 66 Coreopsis can be useful in the landscape in containers or planters, in hanging baskets, in landscape beds or islands or in small groupings and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, theme gardens, cottage gardens, butterfly gardens or perennial gardens.
