Noteworthy Characteristics
The Phantom Hydrangea is most well noted for it's massive white blooms. The 15" dense conical shaped flowers at the ends of the branches start ivory and progress to white with pinkish tips. The stems of Phantom are much stronger than other Hydrangeas and hold the blooms very well. No flopping as is seen with most other hydrangeas.
Uses
Single specimen, groupings, flowering shrub borders, natural hedge, home foundation plantings, espalier (grown flat against a wall), container gardens, butterfly gardens, wildlife gardens, cottage gardens, and just about anywhere in the garden that gets morning, dappled, or filtered sun. It is suggested that Phantom will perform well in Afternoon sun, however, regular watering may be required during hot, dry periods.
Culture & Care Tips
Plant in fertile, well drained soil. Prune soon after the bloom cycle is finished.
