The foliage radiates year round with white, yellow, burgundy, medium green, and dark green variegation. Goshiki Osmanthus is in a class of it's own and is a must for the gardener that enjoys unique and unusual plants.
Uses
Goshiki Osmanthus is best used as a single specimen focal point, in small groupings, shrub borders, home foundation plantings, container gardens, butterfly gardens, asian theme gardens, and as a brilliant splash of color anywhere in the garden that gets mostly or part sun.
Culture & Care Tips
Goshiki is slow grouwing and therefore needs very little, if any, maintenance. It's also disease, fungus, and pest resistent. Part sun to mostly sun is preffered and Goshiki performs it's absolute best when kept out of the hottest part of the day mid afternoon sun. Well or moderately drained fertile soil is preferred.
How To Plant a Shrub in a Container or Pot
I recently purchased False Holly Shrubs from Gardener Direct and I am totally happy. The packaging and plants were in great condition, the plants roots were healthy and strong. I have planted them in the ground and not once did they wilt before or after being transplanted. It took time to find these shrubs and I am so Happy that I found Gardener Direct. Thanks so much for taking the time to provide us and visitors to Gardener Direct with your review. We're very glad to hear that your Osmanthus arrived safely and that you're happy with the quality of the plants. We have several of these beauties growing in our own gardens here in central Georgia and they always get the attention of vistors, who think they are a holly:-) They've grown nicely over the past few years and we've never pruned them. That being said, they do respond well to pruning if a more formal shape is desired. Let us know if there's ever anything else we cxan help you with in the future.
