Additional Information About Chattahoochee Woodland Phlox

Phlox Divaricata 'Chattahoochee' is a fast and moderate growing groundcover plant and perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 3A through 8B. It matures to an average height of 1 inch to 1 foot and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides shade, morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. In the spring Chattahoochee Phlox produces blue and lavender flowers. The foliage is dark green in color. It attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, wildlife and visual attention and is resistant to deer, drought and heat. If you like fragrance, Phlox Divaricata 'Chattahoochee' has fragrant flowers.

Chattahoochee Phlox can be useful in the landscape in mass plantings, in containers or planters, as a border or edger, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, as an accent, under a shade tree, as a groundcover, in landscape beds or islands or in small groupings and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, cottage gardens, perennial gardens or shade gardens.

Plant came in beautiful condition in a nice size pot, not some whimpy little container. One of my favorite plants and hard to find so I was thrilled when it arrived. Flowers just glow at dusk. I will order from Gardener Direct again!
