This is the fun part. There are many selections of plum trees, each with their own fruit color, flavor, ripening time, and more. What really determines the type you should choose is how you want to use them. Most are good for snacking. More about Santa Rosa Plum...

Santa Rosa is one of the most popular fruit-bearing plum trees on the market. It is a self-pollinating tree that produces plums with a delicious flavor. After one taste of this rich, tangy plum you'll be hooked! The plums are large, attractive, and dark reddish purple on the outside with red flesh on the inside. The fruit ripens in mid season and is firm and of good quality. They are great for fresh eating and useful in desserts such as cakes, pies, and ice creams.

Santa Rosa is exceptionally vigorous, easy-to-grow, and heat tolerant. Though self-pollinating tree it will increase production when another variety of fruiting plum is planted nearby.

Pollination: No pollinator required
