Vaccinium Ashei 'Ochlockonee' is a moderate growing shrub and fruit bearing plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 7A through 10B. It matures to an average height of 5 feet to 8 feet and an average width of 6 feet to 8 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in loam soil that is well drained. In the spring Ochlockonee Rabbiteye Blueberry produces white flowers. The foliage is dark green in color. It attracts visual attention and songbirds / birds and is resistant to insects, diseases and heat.
Ochlockonee Rabbiteye Blueberry can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in containers or planters, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, in landscape beds or islands, in small groupings or as a hedge and also in cottage gardens or perennial gardens.

A 2002, University of Georgia release, Ochlockonee has a vigorous, upright growth habit. It is an excellent yielding, late season producer of light blue, medium-large size berries that are firm, have good flavor, and a dry stem scar. As a late season flowering and ripening rabbiteye, Ochlockonee has good resistance to late frosts/freezes, and also stands-up well to mechanical harvesting.
