Additional Information About Green And Gold

Green And Gold Chrysogonum is a fast and moderate growing groundcover plant and perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5A through 8B. It matures to an average height of 1 inch to 1 foot and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun and grows best when planted in loam or silt soil that is well drained. In the spring Green And Gold Chrysogonum produces yellow, golden yellow and bright yellow flowers. The foliage is dark green in color.

Green And Gold Chrysogonum can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in mass plantings, as a border or edger, under a shade tree, as a groundcover or in landscape beds or islands and also in cottage gardens or shade gardens.

More About Chrysogonum Green And Gold...

One from our Toe Tickler Collection, Chrysogonum Green And Gold is a native ground cover known for both it's attractive green foliage and pretty, star-shaped, bright yellow flowers. In spring and fall the flowers rise well above the foliage and have contrasting brown stamens. In cooler zones the flowers will appear during summer as well.

This is one of our favorite native groundcovers for the woodland garden. It prefers a consistently moist but well-drained soil and partial shade: mornig sun with afternoon shade or all day filtered sun.

Chrysogonum Green and Gold is useful as a border or between stepping stones in woodland or shady gardens.
